The bulk of the collection consists of paper records that document the administration of Skidmore College's Department of Nursing in New York City from the 1960's to 1985. Materials in the collection include correspondence, reports, course materials, photographs, press releases, and college publications that describe the program's faculty, students, academics and events. A small portion of the collection documents the early history of the program (1922-1942) during which students were placed at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, New York for clinical practice and study.
